In connection with the services provided by the Hungarian government and as part of the administrative services package available within the Welcome Home programme (Hazaváró program) helping Hungarians return home from abroad, the 100% publicly owned Hungarian Office for Translation and Attestation Ltd. (OFFI) offers discounted translation and authentication services to its clients moving home from abroad to work, study, start a business or found a family in Hungary. More information: https://hazavaro.gov.hu/.
OFFI's services include discounted translations of official documents required for the Welcome Home programme, including fixed-price (unit-price) solutions (their price is independent of the actual number of characters and as such, is calculable beforehand) for simple formalised documents of 1 or 2 pages, or simple certificates. For translations of documents that cannot be handled within the unit-price solution (e.g., handwritten or longer documents in rare languages, certificates, etc.), OFFI offers a 20% discount on the per-source-character translation fee for participants of the Welcome Home programme. In addition to this, participants who need certified translations for administrative purposes, can benefit from an additional 50% discount of the certification fee.
In a complex set of government services tailored to different life situations, the programme's designers have sought to create a one-stop shop, meaning that all such cases were integrated into the Welcome Home Points (Hazaváró Pont) and the case management was simplified. Many of the cities having Welcome Home Points— Budapest, Békéscsaba, Baja, Debrecen, Eger, Győr, Kaposvár, Kecskemét, Miskolc, Nyíregyháza, Pécs, Sopron, Szeged, Székesfehérvár, Szombathely, Szolnok, Tatabánya, Veszprém and Zalaegerszeg—do also have an OFFI Customer Service Point that is at the programme’s participants disposal for any of their translation requests.
