dr. Németh Gabriella vezérigazgató

“The Ministry of Justice approved the new 2019-2022 company development strategy of OFFI Ltd”, CEO Dr Gabriella Németh has informed OFFI’s employees. She emphasised that it was in the fundamental interest of every institution and company to follow a strategy when pursuing and developing its activities. Whether our clients come from the private or public sector, permanent customer satisfaction can only be achieved in the long run through high quality services. This is particularly true of a prestigious state-owned organisation boasting 150 years of history

while at the same time facing the challenges of the 21st century.

OFFI Ltd’s mid-term 2019-2022 company development strategy is designed to address the global technological challenges of producing certified translations. The company’s mid- and long-term development strategy concentrates mainly on maintaining the skills related to building electronically accessible knowledge bases and enhancing the dynamic organisational competences necessary for digitalisation as well as operating OFFI Academy, our prestigious training and knowledge centre. International focus and efforts to promote the Hungarian language in the digital sphere are new elements in the next strategic phase compared to the previous three-year development period (2016–2018). Achieving the established goals and carrying out the projects through project management methodology will hopefully result in reduced costs and a higher level of standardisation, as well as stronger ethics and enhanced competitiveness.

OFFI Ltd is a fully state-owned translation office, carrying on the professional and public service legacy of the Central Translation Department founded in 1869. We can still find among its responsibilities various tasks of preparing and endorsing certified translations, along with judicial linguistic mediation (translating, interpreting, revising and certifying). The Hungarian Office for Translation and Attestation Ltd has kept its right prescribed by law to issue expert opinions in court cases and on transliteration of foreign names.

These core activities are carried out by OFFI Ltd as a public duty registered in the National Public Duties Database. Public duties are non-commercial activities entailing the obligation to carry out the state-assigned tasks concerned.
