Looking back upon a history of 140 years, the Hungarian Office for Translation and Attestation Ltd. (OFFI Ltd.) is a unique institution in Europe in the field of attested translations.

In 2011, the Company fulfils several tasks of special priority:

- Having won the public procurement tender launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Hungary titled ”Provisiont of translation, language editing and interpreting services during the Hungary’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union”, OFFI Ltd. provides the majority of the translation, language editing and interpreting services related to the Hungarian events of the Hungarian EU presidency n the first half of 2011.

In an attempt to prevent forgery and safeguard attested documents, OFFI has made sure to comply with all statutory data safety and security provisions and will continue to do so in the future. To this end, OFFI has issued documents on a new form as an improved security guarantee since 1 January 2011. This sheet contains a watermark and other security features, and differs in appearance from the previous form. Its use within OFFI has been regulated by administrative rules. As of 1 January 2011 all certified translations, translation certifications and certified foreign language copies are exclusively issued on the new form in replacement of the previous one.

In an effort to reinforce national cohesion, Parliament amended the act on Hungarian citizenship, enabling Hungarians living outside Hungary to acquire Hungarian citizenship in an easier and simpler way. I am convinced that every decent person should promote the implementation of any decision to improve the situation of Hungarians residing outside the country. OFFI is responsible for preparing certified translation of documents attached to naturalisation applications. My colleagues and I tried to identify our opportunities to assist applicants for Hungarian citizenship. We offer our clients OFFI’s unique expertise in the translation of documents, the security that only OFFI can provide in managing the documents entrusted to it and in preserving data. We offer reduced translation fees and the shortest possible deadlines for the completion of our assignments.

I am positive that we can soon share with all our clients applying for naturalization not only our common past and national values but also our Hungarian citizenship.

OFFI handled Presidency related language tasks successfully

The translation and interpreting tasks related to the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union were handled by OFFI, the Hungarian Office for Translation and Attestation. Linguistic diversity, added to the large number of events, required professionalism as well as flexibility. Translators and interpreters of Hungary’s number one translation agency covered a hundred events: they translated over 6,000 pages and worked some 2,000 hours in the booths and at meetings – without fail.
